4610 cannot shift into 4th or 8th after neutral switch replacement

After replacing neutral switch onFord 4610, cannot shift transmission (8 speed hi/lo floor shift, nonsyc.) into 4th or 8th all other gears are just fine. any ideas?

If you take the new switch out again will it shift correctly? Wrong switch? Something moved while it was apart? Did the shifting act that way ever before?

Same switch as old one but works, had 4th and 8th before, all looks well inside and the thing shifts great but only 6 speed. linkage lines up what seems to be correct, got me stumped. as far as I no did not adjust or tinker with fork arms.

seems like something has indeed moved, like one of the linkages, have to find a diagram of proper linkage, gotta be close to solvin thisng. thanks my man.
