I thought I had done my research and I chose some hydraulic fluid called AW46 to use in my BX25. After I bought it, I looked online and started seeing some places selling AW46 and they said it was not recommended for transmissions, differentials or wet brakes. So I assume this is not good for my BX25? I bought it from Advance Auto Parts and they said it comes in AW32, 46, and 100. For some reason I thought I determined that AW46 would work, but now I am not sure?

I have not seen any locally available hydraulic oil advertised as being a suitable substitute for UDT. So what specifications should I look for? I have a Tractor Supply store nearby so if anyone is familiar with what they sell and can make a recommendation I would appreciate it.

This is what you should use. It's a case of you actually get what you pay for. False economy by going to a cheaper brand for a SCUT IMO. It may be worth it to use a TSC brand for larger tractors, but for only 3 gallons?

AW32, 46, or 100 is just referring to the weight. Ive also seen 68.

My excavator for instance tells me to use any of those weights depending on the range of temperatures Im operating in. Iso 46 is what Im putting in mine (Im in process or replacing pump and all fluid) for my temp range, I think 46 weight would work for most people.

I would not use it unless the label states it is a substitute for UDT. I use NAPA 85-405 in my BX. Cannot tell the difference in operation from the SUDT2 K promotes as the only thing. now have 1500 HRs. The NAPA product at my fleet/military price is way less than 50% of the SUDT2

Thanks for all the replies. I understand that the UDT or Super UDT would be the preferred product but my dealer closed the location in Maryland where I bought my tractor locally and I would have to go to Delaware to get the UDT. In that case I would not pay the Maryland sales tax but it is a little bit of a drive for me to go there. I still may go there just to see and smell the new tractors while I'm there.

Plain hydraulic fluid is lacking additives that are needed for modern tractors' wet brakes and clutches. I would not use it for a tractor whose manufacturer calls for tractor fluid.

While you're at the dealer stock up on filters and other consumeables to make the trip worth while.
