Anyone own or have info on model 454 IH? I have been looking at used tractors and saw an ad for this model. The seller is a widow and doesn't know anything about it not even what yr. it is. When was this model manufactured and is it one of the better models? (asking $5000)....Thanks,Don

Don, you might want to look at http://www.tractortips.com for a little more information. According to them, the 454 was a gasoline engine made from 1970-73. I thought they also made a diesel version, but don't know. The price sounds a bit high to me, but I'm sure no expert on that.

Like bird wrote they were around for a short time.

The Intertec Used Tractor Price Guide has 'em too. 71-73 Both Gas and Diesel versions. Prices given range from a Fair cond low of $2470 to a Premium cond high of $4450. According to the guide when "NEW" the prices ranged from $4265 -$4650 Gas and $4705 - $5065 for the Diesel.

Don, I have this very tractor. It is a beast. The 3 cylinder diesel is very strong. The thing is built like a tank with some massive steel in it. Mine has about 400 or 500 hundred pounds haning on the front of it with suitcase weights. You need any info on it I still have the sales brochure on it. Rat...
