4520 or 4720

Ok, I have narrowed it down to these 2 tractors any suggestions. Both will be 2009 models with 60hp 0n 4520 and 66hp on the 4720. For light farming and light loader work, will i notice the diffrence? Also anyone with current price please share. I am looking for cab and fel.

6 hp is the only difference? I can't imagine that would be very noticable. I would price both of them and see where it leads. If a dealer has a 47 in stock, then you might get it cheaper than the 45 model.

You'll probably not notice the difference. Go with the 4520 and you can save a few grand. Even if the dealer has a 4720 in stock, it doesn't mean he will (or can) give you a deal on it. When I was looking a few months ago, my dealer had a '08 4720 (same HP as the new 2009 4520) sitting on the lot that was $1500 more than a comparably equipped 2009 4520 that had to be ordered. Go figure. I said, "Why would I pay $1500 more for the same tractor?" and he said, "You're right. I wouldn't either. Go with the 4520." So that's what I did. And it was delivered last Friday! Sweet!

FYI - I think there have been a few of us that priced and/or purchased 4X20 series tractors recently that have negotiated 15%-20% below MSRP. Of course, pricing is regional and is based on supply and demand so you may be able to do better or possibly worse.

When I was looking for a 3120, I got several quotes from dealers. One guy told me that he didn't have that model, but had a 3520 that had been there for 8 months or so. He shot me a deal on that tractor that was cheaper than any of the 3120 or 3320s that I had seen. So, guess what, I got the little turbo charged version of the 3X20s.

I agree, it is very regional as far as pricing goes.

With R4 tires, you'll have way more power than available traction while using ground engaging implements.

The Hp comes in handy when mowing, especially in deep thick grass. Especially in Bahia grass. Don't ask how I know....
