My Mahindra 4510 with a cab, has a dead PTO. The PTO light will turn on, the relay clicks, the lever is engaged. No PTO movement at all. Not even a slight amount. I want to test the PTO solenoid, but I can't find it, but I also don't know where exactly to look. Anyone know where it is? I also can't seem to find a PTO solenoid for a 4510 on the common Mahindra part suppliers. I also think this is a TYM unit.

It's possible that the wires to the solenoid could have been pulled by brush or a stick.

From the parts catalog, the solenoid valve is part #17. Hard to tell exactly where it's located but to me looks like on the right side of the transmission, maybe just slightly ahead of the rear right wheel.

Copy. Any idea where to find a new one if I need to buy one?

It does look like it. Check that ground while you're at it.

Ok, I have tested the solenoid. It tests good with 4.6-4.9 ohms, it has a good ground and a solid 12vdc. I pulled it out and the plunger works, it is a little slow moving in and out, but it works. I will clean it up, but I think I have found the true culprit. After a close analysis, and a dramatic oversight, I am very low on hydraulic fluid. As I understand it, this system uses hydraulic pressure to activate the PTO. Since it is LOW, I'm betting that is REALLY what is going on.......always start with the easy stuff.....

Certainly an option but the fluid would have to be so low that you would notice hydraulic functions not working properly, like steering and loader would probably be the most obvious ones.

I am going to fill it back up, I don't have a loader, so there isn't too much to run off of the hydraulic system.
