My brother wants to use his wife's uncle's 45 HP New Holland to dig some holes using my post hole digger. I think it is the TN model but not for sure. Does it have category 1 or 2 pins?
He doesn't quite understand what I am talking about, so before dragging the Post hole digger down to his house, I wanted to make sure it would work. I've all ready informed him about the extra HP.

45 HP tractor could be either cat 1 or 2, probably a cat 1. Just have him measure the pin sizes and let you know which size they are. Your post auger have cat 1 pins ? Get some cat 1-2 sleeves, cheap and no problem, fits anything /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Steve, there are no 45hp TNs. Some of them a few years old might be 55hp, but not 45. I think he has a TC and that would be a Cat. 1 3PH.

Doesn't matter anyways, the implements will fit fine, pins just a bit loose. Makes them easier to connect, cat 1 stuff on cat 2 arms.

Like the others said. In general.. the cat 1/2 cutoff is right around 45-50 hp. You might find a 50hp tractor with cat 1 arms.. or a 45 hp with cat 2 arms.

As the other poster mentioned.. just get a set of cat1-2 bushings and carry with you..you'll be set to go no matter what he has then.
