Cant decide
Hi guys, Im getting close to ordering my tractor (4320). Also will be getting A 400cx loader, flail mower, and box blade. Im stuck on getting the 448 backhoe or the factory cab. My property has no woods or low clearance issuse, so A cabbed tractor would work. As far as backhoe work, I have A couple small stumps and possibly A garage foundation to dig. All in all probably about 6hrs worth of work. My thought is to hire out the backhoe work as it comes up and get the cab. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks Mike

I'd go with the cab, especially if you plan to use the loader for clearing snow in the wintertime.

The cost of hiring a backhoe (or renting one, if you really want to run it) would be small for the number of hours you mentioned, when compared to the cost of a 448.

The 448 takes up a fair amount of real estate when it's off the tractor too. A minor point, but if you don't have the space it will just be in the way.

The 448 is a fine toy, er, tool, however! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I would but the cab. Get the JD dealer to loan you a backhoe!

When I bought my tractor I had the same decision to make, cab or hoe. My wife settled the issue by saying: "Why would you want to be out in the cold plowing snow when you could be in a heated cab and why do your field work in the summer heat when you could be sitting in air conditioned comfort?"
These women do have some common sense sometimes, don't they? /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Thanks guys, I have been working my wife for three years on getting A tractor, shes finally breakin down. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif The 4320 is over kill for my property. We are working with the nieghbor to purchase 3 more acres of open field so that will add to the work load. Im A tall 250lb man and when I test drove A 3720 it just felt too cramped for me, the 4120 I test drove was perfect.I cant wait /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Mike
