445 long brake band

mark fogleman from nc I am trying to replace a brake band on a 445 long I took off the wheel and took apart the hub.. that was not the right place there was just some gears inside and some oil came out and can anyone tell me if the oil that came out was gear oil or hyd. oil if its gear oil where do you ad it back ? there is a small cover under the tractor with 2 bolts in it I took off that cover you can see the brake band in there but It looks to small of and opening to put the break band through .. please help thanks

If "long" means the tractor "Long", then maybe post in a forum-specific board, so you get some good hits from Long tractor owners. I saw 445 and first thought about my old JD 445.
