Am I reading this right? The little 4410 has almost as much torque as the mighty 4710 and *more* than a 4610 ??? /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif For a measly $1450.00 bucks more than a 4310 this seems like a no-brainer...what am I missing?? I've been looking at a 5205 and 4710 but this little guy may just be the ticket...BTW, I'm getting the specs from the 10 series brochure...

This issue was discussed once before. I am pretty sure that is one of the all too common typos in the JD sales literature. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Yep, MJB is right. It's a typo.

I looked at my 4000 Ten literature this morning when I read this thread. I am no expert, and don't know the true torque numbers, but I would have to think this is a typo. Just take a look at the overall length measurement at the bottom of the 4410 column. I think thats probably a typo also!! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I was going to be the "smart guy" and buy a 4410. But a thread 4310 vs 4410 - What's the Differance (something like that) tore the issue apart. There is a very small differance for a big price charge. The Typo needs to be corrected.

This is a John Deere printing error that they should correct. The 4710 has the highest torque rating in the 4x10 series, a bit more than the 4410. Torque decreases more or less proportionally with the lower model numbers.

What you really need is a 4410 with Power Beyond . Then you'll have more torque AND more power /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Sorry, couldn't resist /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The 4310 engine (Yanmar 3TNE84) displaces 91.3 cubic inches. The 4410 engine (Yanmar 3TNE88) displaces 100.2 cubic inches. 8.9 cubic inches displacement is not a world of difference but certianly does add something. That something is a 9.1% increase in displacement and a corresponding increase in hp & torque as well as a 4mm longer stroke. This comes to 73.1 ft./lbs torque for the 4310's (Yanmar 3TNE84) and 81 ft./lbs. torque for the 4410's (Yanmar 3TNE88). That comes to about 9% increase in torques as well. Most would consider this a noticable and sizeable increase. Question is.......... is it worth the extra money to you?

Soooo...then the 4410 does have more torque than even the 4 cylinder 4610....NICE!! Since it is all about the torque, and the the extra $1,425.00 over the 4310 is pocket change, it looks like a 4410 is the way to go...Next is deciding on the 47 hoe or the 48 hoe for $600.00 more...geez!! I gotta stop somewhere!!!. I'm thinking 4410 w/PowerReverser, 430 loader and 48 hoe for around 26.5K...whadda think??
