4410 not turning rpms needed

670 hours. When I adjust the wide open throttle with no load to recommended 2810rpm, I get a speed sensor code when operating. If I back off the throttle the code goes away.

If I back off the throttle to rid the trouble code while mowing with a belly deck, the rpms are not staying at the yellow PTO indicator on tach. It just seems like the engine isn稚 turning the blades fast enough.

Any ideas?

What model tractor? The 4410 in your signature?
Pick up an optical tachometer and measure the RPM. That's the first step.

Do you have motion match or load match on?

How much lower do you have to lower it to get it to go off?

my 4310 has 2 hall effect sensors. One to check the MFWD, and one that checks the flywheel.

If you just put rpm's all the way up and run it, and it is just a faulty sensor, it probably won't hurt anything.

Deere gets a premium for the sensors. I want to say they have nippondenso make them. I have searched for a way around getting them from deere, but no luck yet.

Not even sure if the sensors are your problem or not...

4410 yes. Dealer said to unhook the seat switch and see if the code stops flashing. Seems the PTO codes are popular and for some reason the seat switch can affect it.

I don稚 have to back off much, but enough to where performance is affected.

I assume you adjusted the RPM by the cluster? It is possible that is not accurate and you are adjusting it too high. It is driven by an electrical signal and could be off. Need a optical tach like someone else mentioned.
