does 12750 seem like a reasonable price for a 4410 with a 430 FEL? About 700 hours on it. has HST and mid pto. r4's although they are worn. about 800 hours.

thinking this one over quite a bit....i'd love a john deere and this seems like the right tractor for me.

That sure sounds like in the low end of the ballpark to me.
For a close friend, he and I had a search on for that model (or a 4400) and there were some hits that were at and around that price. The biggest problem was finding any for sale, as there were not many at all. The closest he came was a possible trade-in at our local Deere dealer, but the guy wouldn't give it up.

Just for comparison, I bought a 4400 (predecessor to the 4410) with 800 hours and in excellent condition for $13000 last summer.
This one has a reverser transmission.
The mower, a 7' Befco, was part of the package.

I do think I got an outstanding deal though.

If it's a good tractor, I wouldn't wait long...you'll miss it.

If you have experience with tractors, you'll know what to look for.
If you don't, it's a bit late to "educate" you. Hopefully, you've been following TBN long enough to educate yourself.

The tractor should start easily. There might be some smoke initially, but that should dissipate as it warms.
The loader should easily lift the front end of the machine (including when you use the bucket dump function).
This is a 35 HP tractor (30 PTO HP) so it should pull strongly. Remember when pushing all the way down on the HST pedal has the opposite effect of what the accelerator pedal does in a car or truck.
Shifting through the ranges may be stiff...it will be "sloppy" due to the long linkages (feels like an old VW Beetle), but it should shift.
Try out the PTO (rear first...stand up and see if the machine shuts down...it should). Then the mid-PTO (ask the owner about the procedure to engage the mid-PTO).
View any maintenance records...just to see if there are any. Also, ask about the operators' manuals for both the tractor and loader (they are separate manuals).

Here's a link to the operator's manual for a little reading:

You do have a day to do some research on TBN. Search for both "4410" and "4310" as there are probably more threads on the 4310, but the tractors are identical except for the engine. I suggest you make good use of that day...and good luck!

Roy....thanks a lot. I have indeed been reading lots on this forum lately and about the 4410. This info below does help. I'll keep researching.

Roy, if you got that 4400 with the FEL and mower for $13,000, you STOLE IT.

BTW, EXCELLENT advice for the prospective purchaser---I could not have said it better myself. Although the OP makes no mention of needing the mid-PTO, I think it is an invaluable option to have, in case the buyer wants to add a MMM later on. GREAT POST.

Thank you for your kind comments!

Yes, I did get a heck of a deal, no doubt. Just happened to be in the right place at the right time. My dealer's sales guy knew I was looking for a tractor with a reverser transmission and called me as soon as this one came in.
I've put about 35-40 hours on it since I bought it and I really like it. However, that mower is huge!! I'd rather have a 72" mower, actually. That 7 foot unit is tough to get into the garage (clears the doorframe with barely an inch on either side).

i'm going over first thing tomorrow. it it passes muster, i'll be returning home with it. they have a 5' disc for $350 too that i'll likely take.

i have a line on a local 6' JD 3pt finish mower (less than 5 hrs on unit) that i'll likely pick up for it as well. that leaves a brushhog and i should be set....for a while ;)
