4320 VS 110 TLB

Hello All, Great Forum!

I have a 4410 with 430 FEL, 48 BH, Rear and Mid PTO, All SCV's, every option available at the time. After a hydraulic issue 6 months into my ownership (popped a hose) the tractor just has not been the same, went from tank to wimp, just no umph! After numerous visits to the dealersip, I have had enough and will be upgrading.

My best estimate is that an equally (as much as possible) equiped 110 TLB is approximately $15k more than the 4320. The question is it worth it for a person that put 250 hours on the 4410 over 3 years. I have 75 acres and always find something to do with the tractor digging this or moving that.

We really need to know more about your uses with the machine. Also what projects do you forsee in the future?

Do you use other 3pt implements? Mowers or tillers? Would you like the use of other buckets for your loader (grapple, blades, pallet forks). How about a PHD or log splitter?

Lots of uses on the CUTS. If all you want is a better BH and loader then the 110 is a great machine. Lots of machine but 15K is a steep jump.

You may be able to change buckets on a 110 as well - check sizing and pricing.

Sometimes in my desire to keep the thread short I omitt relevant information. My understanding is that I can use all my current 3pt accessories, PHD, MX5, BB, LR with the 110, with the top and tilt as well. The only negatives to the 110 that I could uncover were the inability to remove the FEL, which I have not done once in 3 years, no tilt wheel, no cruise and the cost.

I have and will do more trenching for electrical and foundations for outbuildings, moving stone for my 1800' driveway, mowing, fencing and on. I ended up doing things with the 4410 that I never thought of before I bought it.

How big is the weight difference?
Does the BH go on and off with ease?
No cruise would be kind of a pain for me mowing my lot.

I am thinking for 15K I could rent out a machine that has even more power than a 110 for the big jobs requiring more than a 4X20.

Also trailer towing weights may have to be beefed up with a 110.

I have a 110 and you can remove the FEL bucket. Not only that, but you can put any standard skid steer attachment on in place of the bucket.

I just bought a rock bucket and a set of JD forks. It is less than 5 minutes to change the bucket for either. I wasn't really in the market for a set of forks, but my dealer called me and said he had a set on consignment for $600. That is less than I have seen heavy duty clamp-on forks sell for.

If you are going to mow, bale hay, or do any of the farming tasks, I don't think the 110 is the right machine. If you are going to be digging, moving dirt/gravel/whatever, and doing construction the 110 is very nice.

While you may be able to use your curent implements witht the 110, it is not recommended. The minimum weight for an implement is 1250 lbs.

Thanks for the responses. I thought the 448 BH was an upgrade over hte 48 in capability yet when I compared the 2 side by side there was no spec difference and the 400cx was marginaly more powerful than 430. My biggest issues with the 4410 where the performance of the BH & FEL. Possibly there is still an issue with my tractor and I'll have to try out the 4320 and TLB back to back. As with most things I was hoping there would be an easy answer to my situation...nah!

I'd like to know why the difference is 15K,, I would imagine it to be
less than 10, depending on what extras you get.

The 110 hoe is much more of a "real" backhoe than the 48 or 448.
It has much smoother controls, and "feel", and will dig circles around
the other 2. As far as installing and removing, it is even easier than the
448, IMHO.

Curlydave, what do you mean "minimum implement weight is 1250"?
Is that referring to ballast once the hoe is off?

I looked at the 110, but the one year warrenty on the 110 vs. three year on the 3x20's and 4x20's turn me back to the 3x20's

What I mean is that the manual & my dealer both say the minimum weight on the rear of the 110 is 1250 lb. You can achieve this in many ways, ballast is certainly one of them, or through the use of heavy implements.

With the hoe detached, the machine is somewhat nose-heavy, and enough weight in the FEL could cause the machine to tip forward.

No problem if you properly carry the loaded bucket low, big problem if you have it high.

I have the Kubota L 48 TLB, which is similar to the 110.. Only difference is the L 48 has 6 more horse power and a little more flow with hydraulics.. I wouldn't change it for the world... The 110 is a (commercial) designed machine like the L 48 as compared to a regular compact tractor... All standard compact tractors today, have a power steering pump and a main pump with (X) amount of flow.. Let's say both pumps probably average 11 GPM on avg. The 110 has three pumps and 22 GPM flow... This is like day and night. THe hoe is much easier to drop and hook than say a 48 or new 448 hanging off a regular compact machine.. You drop the hoe, hook up the three point arms and use any impliment you already have.... Prices in New England area for 110's start at 43,000 and work up depending on what extra's you add. For both the 110 and L 48, there really isn't too many options that can be added... Work lights rear, rubber stabilzer pads for the L 48 and the 110 has lights, pads, and a underneath shield, which on the 110 I found to be critical...
You can get the new Yanmar TLB for 37,000, and it is almost identical to the Yanmar powered 110 Deere, Only difference is Yanmars loader design...
