4310 runs fine for an hour or so, then, not so well :)

In the past few days I've been using my 11 year old 4310 to bush hog my friend's farm. She ran like a champ for the first hour or so, but then started getting real weak. I attributed this to the only thing I could find wrong, a low hydro fluid. Today I topped her off (probably took a gallon), fired it up and got back to work. Ran like a champ again for about an hour, then started getting very weak. When I let off the hydro pedal the engine revs back up, but as soon as I start to move again the revs drop and power disappears. The loader and 3ph seem unaffected by whatever the problem is.

Any thoughts?

Check your fuel and air filters. One or both could cause your problem.

I'm betting its the fuel filter. Mine was doing the same thing last week. I changed the filter and its back to normal now.

It also could be the fuel cap venting. Starts great, and a vacuum slowly builds, then starts starving for fuel. See if there is a vacuum when you remove the fuel cap when it starts displaying symptoms

My air filter is relatively new, so I blew that out with some air, it seems ok. The fuel filter, on the other hand, was a rusty, filthy mess, and the cup it sits in had a good amount of water in it. I replaced the filter, cleaned everything up, and she seems to be running well now, though I only ran it for about an hour today. Still, the worst that happens is that I have a nice clean fuel filter with no water in it
