I have been quoted $19,100 for a 4310 w/ hydro, R4 tires and a 420 FEL. Going by what I have read here it seems like a better than average discount off the $23,544 list price through the JD Configurator. Although I did select the Mid PTO and the Dual mid SCV in the configurator but I'm not sure if they were part of the quote. And I had to pick the 300x FEL as it no longer lists the 420. Also I have heard the 430 FEL is MUCH better than the 420 is that true (I would expect some degree of increase in performance ruggedness etc).

Your price looks good.

On the loader, its tough. If the 420 is enough for you, its better than a sharp stick in the eye, and lots of folks are plenty happy with it.

Two considerations are that if it isn't enough, you can't upgrade for the $500 or so difference that you can upfront. (The 430 is stronger, longer and goes higher)

The 300 series is here, and the accessories for the 420/430 could go away or get more expensive.

On buyer said that the 300x was about the price of the 420 with 430 like specs.

Your price could easily be based on the dealer moving a 420 he needs to get out from under. Going up might lose some savings for you. Just be sure to get what you want; even if you do go with the 420, you will have a great machine. (but make sure that it fits with your tires, more than one peson has had a 420 rubbing their tires...)

Hope this helps! Have fun!

Yes, I know not a 4310 but wondering how good? of deal it is and trying to figure out the difference between the 4310 and 4410.....and if it is worth it! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have a quote for a e-hydro 4310 from a different dealer and I will post it when I can find it /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Gross Horsepower (4310) 23.2 kW (31.2 hp)
Gross Horsepower (4410) 25.8 kW (34.6 hp)

Engine Torque @ Rated Speed (4310) 78.5 N·m (57.9 lb-ft)
Engine Torque @ Rated Speed (4410) 87.9 N·m (64.8 lb-ft)

With the equipment you list, I can't see that you would see any major difference between them. I pull an MX6 with the 4310 and have done fine ( I am sure that I wouldn't mind a 4410, but haven't missed it!)

Your mileage may vary, but you can decide if its worth the extra $$

This is what I paid October 2004 for a new;
4310 eHydro, 4WD, R4 15,875
420 FEL 2,650
47 Backhoe w/power beyond kit 5,750
(w/13” & 24” buckets)
5ft Frontier box blade 560
JD 60” Mid Mount Mower 2,140
The mower price included the mid PTO and extra hyd stuff.
I am pleased with the capacity of the 420 loaded, so far it has handled everything I have tried to do. I am also very pleased with the 4310, lots of power, plenty of ground clearance and ease of use.
Hope this helps.

Oops! Somehow I got mixed up and thought the original poster was debating between the 4310 and 4410... Both are great!

I muddied the water by posting a quote that we had on a 4410. Going to head out in about an hour to talk to the Deere dealer and a Kubota dealer and see what we can do on a 4310 and a L3130. Will post it when we get back.

Sorry for adding to the confusion! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Not a problem... Isn't the 3130 close to the 4310?

Mooserack,

Thats a great price! That's about 22% off list for the tractor. Again I can't really compare the 420 FEL price to the 300x as I can no longer get the 420 on the Configurator. Does anybody know what the list price would be for a 420?

I stopped by the dealership today and my rep showed me the 400x FEL and how easy it is to unmount. He said you only have to get off the tractor to diconnect the hoses everything else is done from the seat. I bring this up b/c the 300x is supposed to be the same. From what I've read the 300x has the performance of the 430 with what seems to be easier mount/dismount and I like the looks of that series better too. That may come down to a tough decision if my rep gives me an especially good discount on the 420 (to get rid of one) vs less discount on the 300x (which will be in around Jan '05 he said).

I also wanted to ask about tires. The 4310 I'm looking at now has R4s and I would prefer Turfs (I think). For the next year or so the tractor will be cleaning up piles of dirt/gravel, and doing some land scaping around a house we're building in the spring. After that it will be mostly mowing and snowblowing and various other "jobs" I can find to do. I really would prefer Turfs but am I giving up performance? The land is 7.5 acres of hayfield (the last crop of many a field is a house), with a gentle slope.

I hate to derail my own thread as I would still like more info on pricing...
