Jim, I like the blade setup. I probably just live down the road from you. I'm at Oakwood & Coats Rd. How do you turn the blade? I can't tell if it's hand operated to swivel the blade or hydraulic. I've got a 4210 & probably would try the 7ft blade. Did you get it at Nolan's? I'll be off this week, I might want to go up there and price some out.... John

Jim - Thanks for the informative pictures. Your setup is the one I was leaning towards and I'm glad it's working out for you.

I bought mine at Greenias in Dryden. I would check with Dave there. Another good dealer is Fred at Bader Bros just north of Flint.

Mine is manual turn. It works just like a rear blade. For about $500 you can get the hydraulic angling kit. It would be nice to have if you can swing the extra $$$.

Jim - I guess I had the understanding that the front blade was from Deere. Is that not the case? My JD dealer has a setup that (from my recollection) looks just like your photos. I also see a similar plow in the product manual. Please advise on the manufacturer of your plow. Thanks!

Yes, my blade is right from Deere. If you go in to the configurator on the deere web site you can find the blades and part numbers. They are listed under accessories when you choose one of the 300 series loaders.

Good luck! Let me know if I can help with anything else.

Jim,
I have a new 4310 exactlly like yours, with the 300 cx loader. I have purchased the 72" front arm-mounted blade, but have not yet picked it up (have not had the time to get the tractor to the dealer 100 miles away and stay with it until the SCV is fitted). I ordered the hydraulic angling kit for mine, but I am not sure whether I want to invest in it yet. Even though I really enjoy my 4310, I am planning to look at the 3000 series when they come out, mainly for curiosity but perhaps for trade if they seem significantly better. My questions are: first, is it a difficult task adjusting the angle of the blade manually, and second, have you heard rumors that the new 3000 series would be outfitted to accept the hydraulic angling kit without adding another SCV? If so, I may not need the whole kit if a trade occurred. Do you or any other forum member know the answer to this, or does your dealer? My dealer is excellent, but does not know and neither did his regional rep. This would potentially keep me from having to order the same kit twice.

I wasn't aware that an extra SCV was needed for the hydraulic angle. The manual angle is very easy but obviously you have to get off the tractor. You just pull out the pin and angle the blade and reinsert the pin. The blade is very stiff at first because it is new. That is the same with the ROPS.

I think if I were you I would just get the blade for now and see if it works for you. You can always add the hydraulics later. By that time there should be more info on the 3000 series.
