4300 wiring discrepancy

There are two versions of the schematic, OLD and NEW.

yea, i did notice a serial # break at the bottom, then found a 2nd schematic w/ the correct colors going to the turn/tail lights....but i still seem to have more colors than on either diagram...but then, i realized i was only looking at the lighting schematic, and some of those are not for lights...so i tried to delete my post until i check into further...but i can't!

when i saw the taped off wires, i figured the wires were there for rear work lights and just not used if not equipped. would JD bother making multiple harnesses to leave out a cpl extra wires?

Normally JD will include all the wires including the connectors. If you just have taped off wire ends perhaps a previous owner removed the factory connectors so he could hook up something with different connectors.

that's what i was thinking, until i noticed that the 'extra' wires don't match the schematic (old or new). guess i have to un-tape and check w/ my meter.

worse case i might just have to tap into the tail light power.

ok, think i have it solved. un-taped the wire, and it's PURPLE under the tape. the exposed wire is light blue. faded terribly. i also see that they printed the wire # on each one, so i do have 2 sets for rear lights and i think i have the ones there for the trailer connector...still checking out some of the wire #'s.

guess it would have been simple from the beginning if i had noticed the wire #'s printed on them!

Sounds good. I think somebody else here had trouble tracing the light wires until a comparison showed they had faded to a different color.

yea, they weren't even close to original color!
