JD 4400
I have a 4300 that needed some work. In the process of fixing everything I disassembled the seat base to paint it. Unfortunately both bolts snapped off in the powdered metal pieces that slide in the channels. I've soaked them in PB blaster, WD40, etc for weeks and drilled nearly the whole bolt out but still struggling to get the remainder of the bolts out. Does anyone know who makes the suspension seat bases for JD? I'd gladly toss a few dollars at the problem if it's an option. JD doesn't offer the parts in question.

Can't tell much from the second pic.. but another size up on the drill bit should get you to where you can clean the threads up and put in a new bolt.. usually works for me.

Otherwise, look for a parted out tractor and some used parts.. or get some part fabrication going.

Good luck to you.

Tractor must have spent some long time out in the weather ??

The second pic is just the seat base to possibly help with identifying the seat manufacturer.

Unfortunately I wasn't completely perpendicular drilling the first hole, so next size up I will lose some threads. I suppose I could just drill it large enough to tap it the next size up. That's probably going to be the easiest unless I can find these parts new somewhere...I wouldn't be surprised if used ones suffered the same fate while trying to remove from a parts tractor.
