I appreciate the feedback, and I tend to agree with a defective housing. Looking at it "before being broke" it appears to be a massive hunk of metal, not to be affected by any stress you could put upon it. On other machines, especially big yellow industrial loaders, it is a one piece asembly, part of the trans. housing, and massive, UNBREAKABLE! This had the same appearence before it broke, but afterwards it looks like a cheap cast, very loose grain and what looks like possible hollow spots. The hydraulic fill cap never did screw in properly since the day purchased, even ordered new one, and it wanted to crossthread also. Could that be a hint that the casting was defective in this area? I am scared to death, the dealer will not warranty this come monday, possibly accuse me of abusing machine. Looking through the gaping hole I can see several other broken parts. Also, just prior to it breaking, the rocker valve control stick got so hard to move, I was fixin to pack it in for the day and take it in for service. They replaced the rocker valve 2 weeks ago. It was very stiff when I got it back, I even complained to the dealer that I could barley use it for being so tight. Thanks for everyones replies, I am devestated by this, it happened in the middle of a job, and I have 3 more waiting. Machine has less than 100 hours on it and has been in the shop 5 times already.

This is what is going to be your savior...

But... in the future... move implements forward...while doing heavy duty work... usually it's a combination of backwards and lateral/sideways stress on the castings that does them in...

Would this apply to using the rear blade to plow snow whilst going backward?
