Bought this lovely JD 420, and while the motor is running great, the mower deck has been worked on to the point that it's a giant hassle:
One front wheel axle welded on at an angle and the plastic wheel gets destroyed very quickly 1-2 hours. Belt jumping off, other wheel problems.
The question: Is it feasible price-wise to buy a new mower deck? I took a stab at figuring out the part number and saw ~$4300 out there. I could see paying 1/4 that for something that works reliably, but I just can't scrounge that kind of cash.
What are my options?
