JD 4110 Hydo / JD 455
I was recently laid off. I found a new job but it pays 10 bucks an hr less. So I need some honest opinions about what I can get for my 4110. I hate to sell it but the reality of the situation is...? Anyway I owe 13K on this set-up. Please let me here your opinions.

4110 hydro, R4 tires, folding rops, 410 FEL, 60" Frontier rear blade, 1 set of wheel weights, JD I-match hitch. 45hrs on the tractor.

cherymax: First, sorry about the lifestyle adjustment. Most of us have been there and there's always a chance we will be there again. Tomorrow is a promise to no one.

I know you know this, but your tractor is still essentially new. When did you buy it? The break-in period isn't even up. I'm not sure what you paid for the set up, but I would start there and calculate a simple depreciation rather than base my selling price on what I owed. You should most certainly cover the note with a tractor that new. Your only disadvantage is that you cannot offer financing to a prospective buyer the way a dealer can. If you have a good relationship with the dealer tht sold you the machine, you could discuss what they would try to get for it if it was sitting on their lot. Heck, the dealer might even give you a buyback offer, but that's a long shot.

Pete nailed it. When you bought it is important because if you have some warenty period left, that will make a difference.

I've had the tractor about 13 months and paid 14,612 for the entire set-up out the door.
I may be able to afford to keep the thing... put a mower behind it and get rid of my 455 but I'm trying to explore all my options.

Using the configurator, I'm finding that your setup new would be around $18,500-$19,000. If you've only had it 13 months and paid 14,600, then I'd say that you got a pretty good deal which should help you with the resale.

I'm rather surprised that after 13 months, you still owe $13,000. $1,600 paid on principal in 13 months isn't much, which isn't going to help you with covering the debt by resale. I don't think $13,000 for a tractor with such few hours is unreasonable, but consider this. If someone pays for your setup new, they get 0% for 36 month financing and a longer warranty. This is what is going to make things tough on breaking even.

Good luck with the job search and hopefully you will find a way to make things work.

One of the downfalls of the sometimes attractive long term
financing they offer now... especially if drawn out
84 months, lots of interest paid early on and very little principal..

You can always start high, and see what kind of reaction you get, if you don't get many calls you can always back your price down. How much did you put as down payment?

I put nothing down. 14,612.00 out the door, no taxes. I have the 36 month / reduced payment plan/promotion @ 6.9%. Payment is 179.00 per month for the 1st 36 months then it's 2% of the original balance for the remainder (300.00 per month).

I originally bought the thing to replace my 455. I want(ed) to put a mower under or behind the 4110. However, I haven't gotten that far yet. I have 3 acres (mow 2.5) and have a pretty decent driveway to maintain.
