I have a 4110 (2005). It has started popping out of reverse into neutral on the shuttle shift lever. Forward works fine. You have to pull shuttle shift lever all the way back. Sometimes it catches and sometimes it does not. Any ideas?

Sounds like a cable adjustment to me.

How would I do that exactly ? The shuttle shift lever goes to a cable on the left side of the trans. with 2 adjustment nuts. I do not know which way to adjust -to front or rear of tractor?

I believe you should want it to go a little further into reverse. I can't remember which way that is, so move the shuttle lever to reverse and see which way the cable moves and adjust it so it goes a little further in that direction. I will PM you, after I get to work, with pricing on the service manual.

Different tractor make and model ... however when my Branson did that it was a u-joint on the shuttle rod that was bad. Just enough play in it.

I had the same thing with my 2004 3510. Adjusted the nut, fixed the problem. Used to not go all the way in and occasionally jump out. If I tugged it extra, it went in solidy.

Now all is well. That was some time ago I made the adjustment.

IIRC, I put the shuttle in reverse (tractor off, brake on), then climbed under the tractor and moved the linkage by hand until I felt it make a solid and full engagement. Then I adjusted the cable to move the linkage to that point with the shuttle lever.
