I was wondering if any of you would know the size and thread on the engine oil drain plug. I have a customer who needs to put a helicoil in his, as he has stripped his out. I didn't know his answer and told him I would get back to him. I just thought some of you may have already tackled this problem and know the answer off the top of your head. Your help would be appreciated, and if none of you know the answer, will get it from Mahindra on Monday.

Why not take the old bolt down to an auto supply store and they should be able to match it to the correct size.

It is a 12X1.25 just put one in my 2004 4110. Does anyone know if there is a fix for the front ring gear and pinion breaking. I have already put one in it and now it is broke again.

Are you running a rear weight box or are your rear tires loaded. If you are doing a lot of loader work and aren't using any rear balast weight, you may be over stressing the front drive train. The front axil is only made to be front wheel assist, not the main drive system. Maybe you are already adding rear weight, and that isn't the problem, but many times it is.

PS: Thank you for the drain plug size.

Here is the thread I started Last year 2009 http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/mahindra-owning-operating/144038-4110-oil-pan-stripped.html
To save you time, Here is the solution I posted last year "Went under the tractor with light this time to see if there was enough thread left in the hole to use an oversized plug, and yes, the old plug was catching but the plug would not tighten. Backed out the plug, looked in with the light and saw into the hole, it had some good looking thread at the top , got out the tape measure, original plug- 1/2" long, and depth of hole is close to 1" long and threaded all the way . let the search begin - looking for a 12 x 1.25 x 1/2 long" oversized plug, with or without piggyback, NO LUCK at three auto part stores, BUT, came home with a standard 12 x 1.25 x 1" inch long bolt. Back under the tractor, with a gob of grease on the bolt I gently tightened the bolt till it caught the good thread - snug to the pan and then backed it out - no thread or metal shavings on the grease, put original washer on bolt and tightened bolt to 15 ft. lbs. torque, enough torque for an aluminum pan? Yes? Completed oil change, after 2 hrs use no leaks and bolt is tight.
Since then I have found a Canadian supplier on the internet of the oversized plug with piggyback, FOR NEXT YEARS oil change, until then inspection of the pan and bolt is advisable before each use. Thanks to all for the advice"
P.S.
Just completed this years oil change 2010, reused the longer plug I used last year, have a oversized plug I ordered I will keep on hand just in case. Torque the plug this year to 17 lbs.

Always have backhoe, box blade, or tiller on the tractor with FEL. I don't use the FEL loaded a lot. Most of the hours are spent working up a Motocross track in 4X4.
