4110 muffler is too loud

My 4110 is a great machine but it just makes too much noise. I have to wear hearing protection while it runs. Has anyone replaced the standard muffler with a quieter version ?
My 55hp New Holland is less than half the noise. I like being able to hear without muffs covering my ears. Any suggestions ?

Nope, I sure don't. I don't think mine is loud at all though. If I am going to be on it for a while-I do wear my Bose headphones to listen to my MP3 player.

I would check for exhaust leak if it is excessively loud.

It only has a hundred hours on it and there is no indication of a leak. I think the muffler is straight through. Relative bought a new diesel gator. It is even louder with that sharp cracking sound.

Kenny; If you have an extra set of Bose headphones and a MP3 player it may solve my problem. ( If I could figure out the MP3 , send directions )

My Gravely had a louder exhaust than does my 4010.

I wear ear muffs when running the PTO. I've prosthesis in both ears. They rattle like crazy if exposed to loud noises. The 4010 isn't very loud without the PTO running.

my 4115 is very loud as well, has been since day one. i use it for my business, sitting on it for 8-12 hours (or longer) a day. even with 35db ear plugs in, my head still hurts by the end of the day. i have thought about re-routing the exhaust to go up and put on a different muffler, but havent done it yet.
