Tractor
John Deere 4110
My dealer called about 9:00 a.m. and said my tractor was ready and he could deliver today. I took delivery of my 4110 with 200cx loader and 60"MMM about 11:30 and played with it most of the day.
I noticed that the hydro fluid seems to be low because it's below the red sight glass in the rear. The dealer also forgot to install the MMM lock up kit. He said he ordered it and it came in, he just forgot to install it. Overall, I've really enjoyed the tractor today, but I have a question that maybe some of you fellows can answer. When I start to go up any kind of grade, I start to feel the hydro pedal push back against my foot. The steeper the grade, the more pressure I feel. Once the grade levels off, the pressure reduces to nothing. In High range, it's very difficult to drive anywhere except level or down hill.
Has anyone else had this problem and what is the cure? Thanks for any help you can offer.

I'll second that. I notice a pretty firm petal when driving up grades in high. Still, you should be able to climb at least a 15% grade with little trouble (as long as you're just moving from point to point---no PTO strain). I routinely traverse a hill in upper range with FEL and BB attached.
Got your RPMs up?

raydw,
So...Where are the photos of the new addition? We all love those small frame Deeres. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I agree, hydro transmissions demand an ample oil flow for maximum performance. Moving around and obviously working with it just off idle is probably not too good for the transmission either.

Here is a picture with the 200cx loader. It's very easy to remove and install. I took it off for the first time in just about five minutes, but I should get faster after a couple more times. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I am looking at the 4110 as an option for my upcoming acquisition and noted you referred to a 200cx loader. I am being quoted a 410 as the only option for this tractor. Can you give me some information on the 200cx?

bbabineau,
My dealer priced the 410 loader originaly, but found out a few minutes later that it was no longer available. Since he didn't have a 410 loader in stock, he had to order the 200cx. He said that it had better specs than the 410 with 1000lb capacity, but I'm not real sure of all of the specifics. He did honor his original quote of $2500 for the 410. I don't know how much more the 200cx was supposed to be, but since it's the latest model, I would suspect a couple hundred.
To everyone else,
Thanks for the kind words. I hope, that in the future, I can give back just a small portion of the knowledge that I have gathered from this site.

...........one thing I had an issue with is when they hooked up my 410 FEL, they also did not top of the hydro fluid. Now you have more hydro lines with the same amount of fluid. I am wondering if that is what happened to you ? Nice rig /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

because it's below the red sight glass in the rear.

My sight glass is clear. It's red when the red colored fluid fills in completely behind the glass. Are you sure you are low? You also have a dipstick.

Bigpete,
You are exactly right. I desided to check my dipstick yesterday before I called my dealer, and it was full of fluid.
I guess its because it was completely full, that I didn't see a line on the sight glass. I'm glad I checked first, so I didn't look like an idiot and complain to the dealer. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Also, I recieved my mmm latch kit yesterday and installed it myself. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
