4110 clutch freeplay?

Does anyone know what the freeplay on the clutch pedal should be?
It has about an inch and one quarter play, is this too much.
Sometimes I have trouble getting the forward reverse selector in gear.
I may have to call the dealer and have him out and adjust it.

Do you still have the owners manual? I know in my 6500 manual it describes what the freeplay for the clutch and brakes should be an how to set it.

Yes Tim, I'll check the manual tonight.
Since it is still under warranty I think I'll let the dealer do the adjustment just in case there is a clutch problem issue later.

Warranty states "This warranty does not apply to normal service or parts such as.........brake or clutch adjustments........" There are other exclusions also. Just flip your warranty over.

I checked the manual last night (I should have looked first)
Free play should be 7/8 - 1 3/16.
Also shows the adjustment rod.
So I think I'll just make a minor adjustment and take up a slight bit of free play.

That's great! I was hoping you didn't think I was being a smart-a** for suggesting that. Glad you were able to find what you were looking for. These kind of adjustments are great to know how to do by yourself so you can tweak them frequently. I know when I learned how to adjust my brakes in my IH400 that I was so much happier. I thought the brakes were shot, so I read how to dismantle and service and when I took them apart they were in good condition. Just had to adjust a bolt here and there and they were 200% better!

No, not at all Tim.
I read my manual quite a few times since I had the tractor, I just missed (forgot?) the short paragraph on the clutch.
I appreciate the input.
