My son is considering upgrading his 455 (445? its a Yanmar) to a 4100. Any opinions? I had a bullet proof 755 before I bought my 3320 so I'm thinking that the x55's are also a good alternative. He has a far amount of mowing but more importantly, he needs a good snow machine.

Thoughts?

I think the 4100 Hydrostat is an excellent tractor,I bought one new in 99 and other than normal maintenance all that has been done to mine is replace seat safety switch.
However as we have discussed on this forum a 60 inch mower is about the maximum this tractor can handle in heavy grass. So if that suits his situation then the 4100 is the tractor for him, I have often wished mine would handle a wider mower but I don't think it has enough PTO HP (16), I am using a Land Pride FDR 1660 which is a rear discharge finishing mower.

Larry-thx for the comments. I too have a 60" Land Pride rear mount that replaced my mid mount for the 755. then when I bought the 3320, I used it on that for a couple of years. I've since bought my oldest son's 655 Z trak when he upgraded and once you use a Z trak you are hooked. so if no 2 son buys the 4100, I've got a mower for him.
