I have a chance to buy a set of 4100 R4 wheels/tires cheap from a local guy.
Can they be mounted on my 855?
Tires sizes seem to match what I see in JDparts for my 855 so gear ratio should not be an issue.

The question is about bolt patterns.
For the front, the 4100 wheels have 4 bolts and I have 5 so I can't use those wheels unless they are modified or I can find an adapter. The easiest would be to put the tires on my existing wheels if they fit. From what I can see the wheel size and width is the same.

For the rears, 4100 and 855 both use 6 bolts. Is it the exact same pattern?
Any one with this information please give me your input.

Thanks!

Why not measure the bolt circle diameter to see if it is the same? Seems to me that this is what you would want to know for sure.

For the fronts I would simply mount on your existing rims.

Measuring the 4100 wheels would be ideal but I would have to drive a couple hours. I guess I can go to a dealer and measure a 2520 or similar. It should be the same I guess.

Just an update for anyone interested in putting 4100 R4 wheels on a 855;

It is possible! Or partly I should say.

Ratio:
The rear and front ratio is preserved and there are no problems because the 4100 R4 tires size are exactly the same as what is on JDParts for a 855.

Front Wheels:
For the front, the only problem with the 4100 R4 wheel is the bolt pattern. Going from 4 bolts on the 4100 to 5 bolts on the 855. The good news is that you can mount the tires on the stock turf wheel because the wheels are the same size. Not so in the back.
I wanted to keep both sets so I had a friend machinist drill me the 5 holes. If anyone would like to have the bolt pattern calculation to drill correctly, let me know.

Rear Wheels:
The rear wheels match perfectly and you can switch sides depending if you want the tractor to be 48 or 54 inches wide in the rear just like the stock turf wheels.

I will try to post a picture soon.

One note. Remember that the new wheels use flat lug bolts. The 855 stock wheels use taper lug bolts so best thing is to buy the right lugs from JD. One of the cheap things that JD sells...seriously!

Finally got around at painting and putting those new wheels on. You will notice 2 of the 4 original lug holes in the fronts. the 2 other were filled before drilling the new ones. The flash in the first picture show what's behind the front grille. Notice my new Optima battery. Got rid of the spilling acid and will repaint the grille when I get the time. In the meantime Fluid Film is my best friend... I like the added traction but it does ride a bit rougher. I also have the backs filled so the tractor is not the same when I switch from one set the other. But I must say I like the looks off these R4s even though it is not really that important...right.

If those R4s do fit the stock turf wheels like you mentioned , could you post the sidewall info (sizes is what I'm looking for) Thanks again

Fronts will be 23x8.5x12. Can't remember what the rears are. the R4's on my 855 came from a newer tractor. I didn't keep the front wheels, I used a set of wheels I already had. In retrospect, I think this could be a better solution if yo uhave access to a decent machine shop. The wheels I used don't have the same back spacing and i don''t much care for how they locate the tires if I have the MMM mounted.
