I have a 4100 series JD. With the seat switch hooked up properly you start the machine and either put it in gear or engage the PTO and it stalls. I jumped the switch and it works fine, replace the switch and the same problem. I am lost. Thanx Don

Maybe a bad ground?

im not sure but you could have a deffective switch or maybe its not adjusted properly, im just guessing but get someone to sit in the seat and check the switch to make sure that its making proper contact with the seat i had trouble with the safety switch on my clutch and thats all it was not making proper contact with the clutch peddle when i depressed it so maybe the same thing with your seat switch hope this helps don
