Hi Arly, the 485 BH setup appears to have a diverter valve you need to actuate to run the thumb. Then there is a thread here about adding a Hydraulic thumb to the 485 BH.

What you could do is what I and several others is convert the mechanical thumb to a electro-Hydraulic setup using a 12V solenoid on the cylinder and a button to activate on the BH stick. Will cost you about $500 in parts (not including thumb) Cylinder, Solenoid, hoses, and Controls.
Basically tee the top bucket cylinder into the top of the solenoid then to the cylinder, then tee into the Hyd line and run that to the bottom of the thumb cylinder.
