I've had my new to me 4035 for a week now and have had time to go over it pretty thoroughly. The only thing I have found is the front axle is leaking fluid. It leaks a little from where the pistons slide in and out on the axle and I also see some on the front wheel. (Apparently a seal out on the end of the axle as well). It's not a huge deal and can live with it for now. Just wondering if anyone has had similar problem and how big of a deal is it to fix. It's not something I would do myself. Is it an extensive/expensive repair? Thanks

Turned 200 hours not long ago, no leaks. First I've heard of leaks, so I'm subscribing to this thread in hopes you see a quick and easy resolution. Can you get any decent images of where the leaks are exactly?

I think by your description "the pistons" are likely the hydraulic steering cylinders. A leak there would be just tightening a fitting or rebuilding a cylinder with new seals. Neither are difficult or extremely time consuming with proper tools on hand. I don't recall if it was the tractor, loader, or backhoe owner's manual that came with mine that showed the processes involved in rebuilding a cylinder; it didn't appear difficult or different from others I've seen redone in the past.

Never been into this one, but from several other examples I've seen in the past the axle seal should be about like changing an axle seal on your pickup, only bigger. Pop the old one out taking care not to scratch the surfaces of anything except the old seal, tap a new one into place evenly square and straight.

Best of luck!

Yes the cylinders. I misspoke. For the leak out at the end by the wheels I did take one of the front wheels off to see what I could see... and Ya can't see much without digging in much deeper. I'm not prepared to do that. :). Fyi- mine has 700hrs on it.

I would guess you would be looking at about 4 hours of shop time at the dealer. Parts shouldn't be much of the cost.
