Eric if you are trying to remove the fuel from your tank and water etc this Is your BEST option !!!
The brass end is a check valve and the flow is started by shaking it! It's the real deal no joke.

I used one at my last job for two years. It's had thousands of countinous uses for removing diesel fuel from trucks. It has had thousands of uses.

I just bought this one today at the truck stop. 12 $ and can be picked up at harbor freight. The check valve keeps it primed so it's self starting, stays primed and not to mention is less affected by gravity

Thanks!!That looks cool. I will visit my Harbor Freight. This looks like much better idea than laying on your back draining a tank. My tractor is running a little better in 1st gear. Still won't run good in 3rd. I am going to wait for warmer weather and remove and clean the carb. I did change the plugs. They looked terrible. Only a year old, less than 100 hours on them.

On my shop-vac the motor is separated from the and the fan/blower that creates the vacuum. I will take your advice though it is probably not a good idea. I got away with it this time. Thanks.
