just a quick question may i drill my rops to install lights if not why. the bottom part is drilled or may i weld brackets to it . thank you ahead of time for all your guys help cooperation and patience. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You'd void your warranty most certainly. And, when it came time to trade, you may have to replace the ROPS. Private sale...no problem.
As far as structural integrity...probably won't really hurt anything. But I would investigate other methods of attaching your lights. Do a search in TBN...there've been quite a few threads on this subject.

Another reason "why" is the engineers that designed the ROPS have taken into consideration (hopefully) the location of the holes drilled into it to assure they will not affect the yeild strength of the steel in the case of a rollover. Welding changes the grain structure of the metal, causing it to weaken if it has been pre-hardened for strength; or causing it to become brittle if it starts out in a soft (normal) state.
That being said, I drilled /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif 3/8" dia. holes in the ROPS on my 4010 to install lights...ya just can't see at night with the FEL installed!
