I bought that computer game at wally world, for kicks, called "AMERICAN FARMER" by JOHN DEERE.You suppose to be a sucessful farmer,plant-tend crops, tend livestock, hire employees, build barns, buy sell land etc.
I guess i aint no good,i went bankrupt the first 3 times i tried, and my crops all died /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.I spent too much money buying the DEERE tractors with implements,so i could drive them /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gifThem darn cows, you just get done feeding them and they are starvin again /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gifAlittle bit of fun for 10 bucks on a cold sub zero night up here.

My wife gave me that game for Christmas. I am now a successful dairy farmer and hog farmer /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif. It's a great game to pass the time in an airplane. I love it!

You've got to restrain yourself from the tractors (I know it's hard to do) and start out small, and then grow your farm over the years. The longest I lasted was 5 seasons going strong, /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif and then the computer froze. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif Boy was that frustrating. Great game! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I got it a couple of months ago. I am now a successful row-crop farmer. Yep, it sure is hard not to buy all the tractors but you learn.

I got it for my kids. They have fun but don't seem to grasp the concept of being successful with it (probably buying too many tractors). I haven't had a chance to play on my own. Years ago I tinkered with SimFarm and had some success by growing strawberries and sugar beets of all things. Fun stuff /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I'm up to 30 years of farming but my employees keep on quiting. Guess I work them too hard.

road side stands are the way to go but they keep you busy.

and, no,

like real life I ain't gettin' rich farming on the computer.

They also have the new one "John Deere North American Farmer", you can raise horses with it. I sell everything after 30 years and the best I've done is $4 million.
