and Please let us all in on the 40' ladder deal - I could use one :D

Thanks
Sorry, it took me a while to get the ladder. It's a heavy SOB ~90lbs. Green Bull is the Brand.

I found it at Western Tool Supply. Western Tool Supply - Home Page

Now I need to put the levellers on and find someone to go up it for me! ;)

I grew up near an old flooded quarry that had 65' cliffs and 80' deep water.
I used to run off that cliff and feel like I was flying! It was a blast.

Fast forward 25 years...I can't get near the edge of the thing without getting the willies. Maybe the common sense gene finally kicked in.

I believe that is called the sense of self preservation. :D

I also have a height phobia and get nervous just changing the fire alarm batteries.
I recently had my house painted (by a pro.) The house is two story with a daylight basement-that back end has a deck and a wide roof overhang so ladders are very unstable.
I checked the local rental companies and rented a towable manlift with a 34' arm for $125 for 24 hours. It has controls on the ground or in the platform-self leveling with legs like a backhoe and worked like a charm. It worked so well that next paint job I just might do it myself and seve several thousand dollars. (I paid more to paint this house then I paid for my first modest home.)
I wouldn't trust myself to go the first three steps up a 40' ladder.
