I am pretty tractor illiterate so please bare with me. I just changed the hydro/ trans oil on my 4310 hydo and ran it. Only to realize there is a rattle I didn't notice before. Itcould be that I just didn't notice and it is unrelated as I can't imagine how they could be. The noise is coming from the shaft that runs through the transmission houseing next to the hydroloic filter. There are two metal sleeve? One on each end that are just rattling when the tractor is in drive or reverse. The shaft spins but the two metal sleeves just rattle around. I think it is the 4 wheel drive shaft but like I said I know only what my manual tells me. What should I do? Thanks.

Those collars couple the drive shaft to the drive stubs on either end. In 2wd drive there is no load on that shaft and they can rattle as the shaft rotates. You might want to use some graphite spray lube on them. May quiet them some. Grease would work but attracts dust.
