got a case 1494 4wd. the 4wd acts funny. the front out pulls the rear until you step on rear lock lever. then the rear and front turn at the same pace. is this the normal way this tractor should pull in 4 wheel drive?

I perfer to see front end lead between two and five percent! Any more and you are just spinning tires and any less and the rear will be pushing the front in turns.

Different tire swaps could make the front lead too much or it could be too slow.

The rear lock lever shouldn't cause the front and rear axles to travel at the same pace What does it do when you drive in 2wd? If it drives fine in 2wd with or without the diff lock engaged, then I haven't a clue what would cause this. If it only drives in 2wd with the diff lock engaged, it sounds like a broken axle or something.
