Tractor
Grand L3540 ,724 loader, bucket, grapple and now forks also! And just for OP.. a pool!
So I bought my tractor and it came with a regular bucket and a 4 N 1 bucket, after a few attempts I pretty much gave up on the 4n1 and it just sat here. well I did some asking and research here and seems to me a grapple would better serve my purposes so I decided to sell the 4n1 and get a grapple. Seems no one really wants a 4n1 bucket and I got barely a glance at it. I talked to an equipment yard guy last week and he agreed to trade me a new 48" heavy duty grapple even up for the 4n1. Seeing as nobody was interested in the bucket anyway and I wanted a grapple I took the 3 hour drive Saturday to pick it up. My tractor is a Kubota and has different hydraulic couplers so now I need to see about getting the ends on the grapple changed out to match. Went to TSC and they were pretty much useless. I dont think anyone there pays any attention to ordering parts in there hydraulic area as it was pretty ravaged. They had 1 JD/Kubota quick coupler end, the female.. but no males. Same with a thread adapter, might have been able to work something out if they had a couple the same size, but no... only one there.

So I took the grapple back off and set it to the side till I can go to the Kubota place to see if they have the ends or something... Grrrrr...

He told me the makers name but it now eludes me, some place up in North Carolina. Very stout piece of equipment!

And my first "grapple" an old rusty roll of fence picked up out of the weeds.

YAY!!

Looks well built. That is what I want next....grapple. I think you made a good trade.

Congrats on the new grapple. It looks great, and I'll guarantee you that you'll find it MUCH more useful than the 4-n-1 bucket.

What style of connectors are one the grapple? And what style are on the tractor? My grapple had the flat face skid steer type couplers and the dealer that plumbed my tractor's hydraulics to the front of the FEL put 1/2" ag couplers on, so I changed the ones on the grapple to 1/2" ag style.

You can order what you want from Tractor Supply and have them shipped to you or to the store for pickup.

Hunt4570,

Do you have a Colliflower Hydraulics near you? They'll have what you need.

--break--

XFaxman,

If it was made in NC, it could be a WR Long. Their facility is in or near Tarboro. If it's a WR Long bucket, it's a quality, well made piece of equipment.

My grapple also had the flat front skidsteer type, the tractor had like 3/8 ag style.. I changed them both to the 1/2" ag style jobs..

Here is the link to Parker's hydraulic quick connectors: http://www.parker.com/literature/Quick Coupling/Catalog 3800_SectionB.pdf

The flat faced couplers found on skid steer equipment are the FEM product line. Tractor Supply usually has a version of the 1/2" body couplers and nipples. For the 3/8", usually found on the case drain, and the high-flow (5/8" or 3/4") you will need to find a Parker store or Grainger carries some. You may have other local shops too, but it helps if you know which model you want. I just went through trying to find a set of 5/8" and 3/8" couplers. Surprisingly, Grainger had 3/8" on clearance and the Parker store was cheaper than anyplace I could find on the internet.
