Appreciate the many good comments in the past few days, getting closer to taking the plunge and have another question. Does anyone know if a 4:1 bucket is available for the LA402 FEL and if so, can the B7800 handle it ok? I understand they are quite a bit heavier. Have to clean tops and brances off the woods roads on occasion and thought the 4:1 would be a big help.

I have not seen one for a 402 loader on TBN.
If you find one please post the information.

Check www.carverequipment.com. They have a Line of Loader Attachments (W.R. Long,Inc.). They show 4n1 buckets for compact tractors. If I get a B7800HSD, plan to explore a 4n1 bucket further. The 60" Heavy Duty weighs 445 lbs, which will reduce product capacity somewhat, but should make the bucket much more versatile.

I guess I didn't use the right words. We need a 4 in 1 bucket that is closer to 250 pounds. Instead of 445 pounds.

Carver shows a compact version that weighs 340 pounds.

The stock 60" bucket weighs 180 pounds.

There have been several people on the forum that have 4 in 1 buckets on Kubota B21’s and think they are great. I wanted one in a bad way and looked into the WR Long units several years ago. As I remember it was going to run in the 2K range before adding the hydraulics from the tractor. It was also going to reduce the lift capacity by 200-250lbs due to the added weight and that was too much for me. Guess it all depends on your needs for the loader.

Thanks for the replies. I've decided to forgo the 4:1 on the B7800. Would be nice to have, but appears to get too complicated on this size tractor.
