* I was wanting to ask you something about your tractor last week
but didn't know if i could(PM) you, so i will go ahead and ask.
Do you like it? Does it have a cab with H/A and does it have a backhoe, if it has a BH how long is the reach?
There is a dealer close to me and last week they hauled away 3 tractors on one truck and allot of attachments on another.
i am pretty sure he has several ones like yours, i going to check it out
maybe this week, ( if i can get there, we are under a winter storm warning and maybe 1 to 2 in. of ice) SORRY SO LONG.
Bill
That sounds like it's from experience...???

I don't have a backhoe. I was looking really hard at them a few months ago and I've found that the price is just too much (~11k) to have sitting around most of the time. There's a CAT rental store in town, and for $200 a day I can rent a great minihoe. The Deere 485 is the hoe for the 4x20 series. I looked at the Woods BX-90 too, but it was priced even more ridiculously (~17k including a hydraulic thumb!!)

Oh ya, I love it. There's SO MANY things around the acreage that I wouldn't have a hope of accomplishing without it. It's been very reliable. It has great power and is really good on fuel. It's a bit loud, but the earplugs help with that.
No cab, no visor, wide open. Great in summer, not so great in winter!! I will be getting a cab on the next one, but that's many years away.

Feel free to ask me any other Q's.

That's exactly my problem. Would love a backhoe, but 11K would buy a lot of other implements.

Those were canadian scheckles, so you're right.
448 will work on a non-cab. It was suggested to me that if I do get a hoe to go with a 485. That way if I ever get a cab machine, or if I want to sell just the hoe, it's more re-saleable. Is that a word??
