Yeah, inquiring minds want to know ! Especially folks that are shopping right now. "Oh well, only $$$ more and I could go with the 4120 and have a Genuine John Deere engine, planetary final drive, etc." - Wonder how many heads that thought is rolling around in - mine would be one of them, but "A mans' got to know his limitations".

I know some dealers have them in their lots already and we (and that included my dealer according to him) still can't even tell what the field installed option list contains???

Deere migrated an 'unused' (?) motor line left over from smaller (discontinued?) skid steers for the large frame CUTs. Any hint that they have still smaller motors in production that would fit the smaller series tractors?

I'm wondering if the home-grown motor thing is a precedent.

Nothing against the Yanmar, but it could possibly make a difference for some folks. That is, possible customers and Deere employees.

But none of the other compacts out there use their branded motors. I bet people would like the Powertech engines they are excellent motors. With the good sucess in the 5000 series and higher they probably felt it was worth a try.

As soon as I hear anything I will post it. So far though no one is talking much about any 2020 or 3020 series. Still is speculation that is going to be the model numbers. Time will tell though. Take care.

Kubota and Kioti use their own. Since Daedong owns and makes Kioti, they are using their own engines.

Well kind of forgot about those. There is Massey/Agco, CNH, and Deere for now. I don't think the Yanmar's are bad by any means!

He did say there was an update coming. I guess it was because of all the info already posted, the update fell on the to-do list.
