So, looking at a chipper and Tiller for the 1850..

Based on this formula

HP=PSI X GPM / 1714

33 = 18GPM X 3200 PSI / 1714

I should assume that I need to purchase an implement that is rated for 33HP (or a bit less with standard losses of 15%) or am I missing something here?

On a side note, it is kindof worrying me that a 90" brush hog has only 33HP spinning it, when on a normal cut you would barely swing a 6' brush hog with that HP.

But remember, when driving a cut, not all the hp is going to the pto either. Using your formula, my 1430 is only delivering 17.5 hp to the pto but it still runs a 60" brush hog as well as the 32hp cut I had.
