I have just now attempted to use my 3pt Post Hole Dugger Linebach 7200 Jr.
What an I missing the holes are Ok front to back however side to side they seem to be slanted. I am sure there is some adjustment to be made so i can drill a straight hole front to back and side to side. What I mean front to back I am refering to siting on the tractor and line the digger up front to back

Are the side turnbuckles tight? the ones attached to your lower arms? When the PHD is attached, can you move the head (gear box) from left to right? Most people have a problem with front to back since the 3ph doesn't lower straight down but rather in an arc.

Is the PHD plumb side to side when you start digging?
I rest my auger on the ground, PTO DISENGAGED, and use the front wheels plus moving the tractor slightly to line it up side to side, then I line it up front to back. You'll see what I mean when you try it. Moving the front end of the tractor a little will affect the PHD's boom and move the bit side to side as it rests on the ground. Once everything looks plumb, foot on the clutch, engage the PTO, hand on the throttle and the other hand still on the steering wheel so I can adjust it as it digs if it needs it. I usually have to move the tractor ahead slightly, too, after it's dug about 1-1/2', and the position of your wheels could throw it off again, so be prepared to turn them as needed. IMO digging a post hole is like swinging a golf club, there's a lot of thinking and coordination involved.

Ive been tempted to mount a torpedo level on my PHD that way I can see if its plumb but then I realize that my land is so uneven that it would not make much of a difference since I would be having to adjust the tilt link and what not. So I cheat, use a bigger bit then what I would normally use for the hole and then back fill it and repack. For example for the 4x4 posts i was putting in I was using a 6inch bit then filling with dirt (with some water added for packing) and took my time loading the hole in and used a post level that attaches to the post to allow me to keep it plumb in both directions.
