I had them on my old TO-20 to keep the mower from swinging sideways and rubbing on the rear tires. If you fave clearance issues they can help.

I'd be worried about breaking that top link bracket. If it was several times that size I wouldn't worry, but thats the kind of part you can't easily fix, and would be expensive to replace (the whole housing).
The 3pt is made to handle heavy weights, just don't shut it down for extended periods of time with the 3pt raised and it won't be a problem.
