3PH Leak Down

On my BX23 I lifted my LP 72" landscape rake with the 3PH and as soon as I set the lift control to neutral, the rake comes back down slowly and doesn't stay in the up position...Too much weight, or does anyone know if there's an adjustment hydraulics wise for this...?

A partial answer for your problem is the valve near your ankles below the seat. By closing it you can lock the valve on your three point hitch in the raised position. Don't know why your pressure is dropping but this should help you cope with the problem. Best of luck.

The BXs dont control height with lever position - just raise lower and hold. This should not happen in your hold position. If you are within warranty you can notify the dealer and Kubota will fix it. If youre close to warranty they may as well. I guess Im not sure exactly what you mean by slow tho. If it takes an hour to drop thats not too bad. Pretty much what I would expect based on the hydraulic leakage rate I have always experienced on my BX1500. The MMM drops to the ground overnite if not set with the mechanical stop.

Some tractor 3 pts will hold implements up almost indefinitely....but the spec in the shop manual allows the 3 pt to drop as long as the rate is below a certain rate. I forget just what the rate is, but do remember that it allows a faster drop than I would have thought.... If I'm remembering right, it's on the order of an inch of drop in 10/15 minutes with the lift arms loaded. I guess we could think of it as a safety feature in case someone forgets to lower an implement when they park the tractor.

Sounds like the seal on the hydraulic piston inside the 3ph is leaking. On my B7100 it was an O-ring. I assume it is the same on your tractor. A cheap and easy fix. The part was around $10.00.

I agree.....Looking for an online exploded view of the hydraulics of the 3pt hitch.....Need to see the check valve and how to tear it down, replace bad part, put back together.

While using my tractor today I noticed if I didn't raise the 3PH to the full height and let off the raise/lower handle my back blade stayed put and the 3PH did not lower itself...As per design?

Well that puts an end to my idea of why the 3 PH would not stay in position. If the O-Ring was defective on the piston it would drop no matter what position the lever was in. I am eagerly looking forward to ideas of what is actually wrong with this tractor.

I agree Sam...Seems as if the check valve is doing it's thing...Now, why the heck it doesn't do it when the 3pt is up all the way is the culprit.
