I just received my 6' cutter for my L4330 and I hooked it up to my tractor to move it into the shed today. I have used an older ford tractor many times and my 4330 doesn't seem to lift the cutter as high as it should. I have adjusted the top link to level out the cutter and the full lift height is about 2' off the ground. The ford lift height is much more than this. I have checked the three adjustment levels for the top link as well. Is this just the normal lift height of the grand L series?
Thanks
Chieff

Wow - I wish mine would lift 2 feet! This is usually a function of the placement of the lift pins on the cutter frame, although I think that CUT's don't lift as high as utility tractors, generally speaking.

The King Kutter is notorious for placing the lift pins too high on the frame (see attached - cutter is at maximum lift). Several members have lowered the pins to get more height, but unless you need it for traversing gullies or some other reason, it seems that 2 feet should be more than enough for transport.

I was one of them.
Couldn't lift the cutter high enough to suit me, so I lower the lift pins 5". Problem solved !

Chieff,

Do you mean 2" (inches) as I'm thinking 2' (feet) is tonnes of height!!!

If you mean inches, then you are in the same boat as many of us. There are a lot of threads about lowering the lift pins on the cutter to improve the height.

Thanks for all the posts. I measured the height and I am right at 18" off the ground. I have just been used to an old ford and it will lift a different hog 3.5' off the ground. I have not checked my new cutter on the older tractor so It may just be the pin height on the cutter. My cutter is a hawkline and so far I really like it. I am new to the GrandL series and just didn't know if it was just my tractor with the low lift height.
Thanks again.
