My dad bought a 3720 tractor with a cab. It has 1200hrs. on it and is well taken care of. He was driving it around some and plowing with it, then it shut down and would not start. He checked the oil and found fuel in it and it was way over full. He checked it all out when he got it so this is something new. Any help would be great. Is it a leaking nozzel? or worse. thanks JC

Hiya

How did you determine there was fuel in the oil? Just the smell or with an analisys?

If the 3720 is anything like my 3320, it has an electric primary fuel pump so the posibility of a mechanical primary pump leaking and pumping into the crankcase is eliminated. However it does have a mechanical secondary pump, as that can fail and pump fuel into the engine it could be the cause of both the no start condition and the fueled oil.

Secondary fuel pumps are not cheap to replace so I would suggest contacting a reliable dealer or independent Diesel mechanic to diagnose the issue

You sure it's not hydraulic fluid in the oil ?
