Need some help from TBN. L 3700 will not crank. Battery voltage ok. It seems like a safety is locking out the starter. I've checked the seat safety and pedal safety. Verified pto is off. All fuses seem ok.

What am I missing? What else could be locking out the starter?

Thanks guys. I will check voltage at the starter. I forgot to mention the clutch safety. Does anyone know if these safeties are normally open or normally closed?

not sure ..but easy to check with a voltmeter or ohm meter.

Happened one time to me - started checking the safety switches and couldn't find any problems. So I was sitting there and tried it again, nothing, rocked the HST pedal a few times while hitting the switch and bingo, it starts. It seems that switch is very picky about the position it is in.... Plus I forgot the HST had a switch on it.
Good luck

I will try this as well. The safety for this in under the dash.

Check that the PTO engagement lever is fully 'off'. That got me last spring.

Even now, every once and a while mine is picky about starting so I rock it and hit the key and I am back in business. it seems if it is out of position 1/8 of an inch the interlock kicks in and there is no starting the tractor.

Is is making any noise like a click? Had that happen to me twice on my L3710. Once it was the pto lever safety. Another time it turned out to be a bad battery. I checked the battery and the starter and had plenty of volts. Spent quite a bit of time testing things, even rebuilt the starter solenoid. Eventually found out it was a bad battery - had plenty of volts, but not enough cranking amps. A battery tester would have saved me a lot of time.

If you don't figure it out, and want wiring diagrams. I have them for the L3710, which is probably similar. I might be able to scan them in. Let me know if you want them and I'll give it a try.

Hope this helps a little :)
