OK, posted earlier how the tach on my "new" 3600 didn't work. Cable was missing. Bought a new one, installed it and tach still didn't work. Took off the cover and there was nothing connecting the top of the oil pump shaft to the proofmeter cable bushing. Obviously some parts missing. Looked up the parts for it and it appears there is a short (4.5") cable that I don't have. No biggie. It's under $10. However, before I order it, I want to make sure that I'm not missing something here about how it works.
Since the proofmeter bushing to oil pump shaft connection is at right angles to each other (shaft vertical, bushing horizontal), I'm assuming this short cable's (F1NN17N275AA) male end is inserted into the top of the oil pump shaft (hopefully there's a square hole there LOL), comes up through the adapter that has an opening inline with the proofmeter cable and bends over to connect to the bushing that the proofmeter cable goes into, giving me my mechanical connection. Am I correct in this? The parts dwgs are real fuzzy, the shop manual has no pix and I want to make sure there's no "guts" in the adapter that don't show on the parts diagram.
