Tires 36" tires on jd 855

Does anyone have 36" turf tires on the back of their JD 855? If so, how to they work and how do they look? My 33" tires are getting bald and I have a chance at a set of 36"-ers that were said to be used on an 855. I am just worried they will turn my tractor into a 'dog.' And they need to look good too!

The 855 has 4WD correct? You need to be very careful of the front-to-rear ratio's so you don't damage the drivetrain.

The 36 inch tires were a factory option on 755 and 855. My 755 cannot use them because they are not compatible (clearance issue) with the 60 inch MMM. The 855 longer wheelbase does not have that problem. I do not believe there would be a clearance issue with the 855 even with the 72 inch MMM. The 955 has the 36 inch tires as standard equipment, but it also uses larger front tires. Like KennyD I also have wondered about tire diameter differences causing problems even though the factory offered the larger rear size for the 755/855.

I did not realize 36"s were optional equipment. My tractor is a 2wd so I am not worried about matching up with the fronts. Any pictures of 36's on a 855?

Lots of pics of 955 tractors with 36 inch tires on sites such as Used Farm & Agricultural Equipment - John Deere MachineFinder and Used Tractors at TractorHouse.com: John Deere Tractors, used farm tractors and farm equipment, Case IH, New Holland, Agco, Caterpillar. . Only visual difference is the larger front tires on those. Rear fender view and clearances would be the same on your 855.

I made an improper assumption. I should know never to assume. JD Parts says the 36 inch tires, while available for the 855, are not compatible with the 72 inch MMM. So kimodc I don't know what deck (if any) you may have but this could be a problem.

Since I have brand new 36's on order, we will just have to wait and see. I do have a 72" mmm but I never use it, I mainly just use the front end loader and pull trailers around. I was able to find new softrac 33" but at $360 per tire I just couldn't do it. Instead I was able to find new factory blem 36" for one third the cost. If I remember correctly, I don't recall the rear tires coming all that close to the mower deck before, so I am still hoping the 36's will clear it.
