i have a new 3520 and on my first tank of fuel the lo fuel started blinking at 8.5 hrs. and a little over 1/4 on the fuel guage. i ran it 2 more hours to 11.5 hrs. and the guage showed just a tad above empty. this is an os and has a 13.5 gal. tank. filled it up and only took 9.5 gal. had 4 gallons left. could probably have mowed for two more hours and still been not close to running out. how does everyone else handle this fuel guage and or lo fuel warning. its nothing like my old 4410 where the guage read about 1/2 when it was full and dropped to empty after three hours. it always used 1 gal per hour so i would keep track of the fuel by the hour meter. at least this guage starts at full and comes down to empty as it should. thanks for your time and let me hear how you handle it................bud

The fuel gauges leave a lot to be desired on these machines. They really need a buffer to slow down the response and some sort of logic circuit that requires the reading to be at a certain point for a period of time.

I never noticed a "problem" with my gauge (Cab machine)... I attributed the funkiness to the fuel tank design.
On the cab machines they will run for hours and hours above 1/2 tank, after 1/2 tank you have 10 minutes of run time remaining :laughing:...its not that bad, but it does go down faster after 1/2....but if you look at JD Parts you can see the way the tank is designed it makes sense.

Yeah, Bud.
My 4410 is the same way. Pretty much have to be sitting dead still with the engine off to get a real acurate reading.:cool:

The fuel gauge on my 3520 works as it is meant to and is rather more acurate than on my car. A huge improvement after the dip stick on the Massey 35. I tend to think the low fuel alarm is set off a bit early, but it just gives you more time to go and fill up. If only there was a similar alarm to remind me the handbrake is on !

YES. Maybe the alarm would help prevent my son-in-law and others from running the tractor with the brake applied. Excellent idea.

i've already had my 08 3120 sending unit replaced under warrenty they said that there has been some issues with them, mine was reading way conservative.

Wait a minute, now, my gauge is more temper mental than that, it sometimes works very well (Summer, Winter), sometimes it does not (Fall, Spring). But I have apparently I have gotten used to it.;)

no kidding, I have resorted to starting off very slow, when I I am in a hurry, just so I can catch myself before I do it:D

Hey guys. I know this is an old thread.
I have an older 3720 that the fuel gauge was working fine.
Now, tanks is full. Gauge reads full. But low level warning is flashing.

Before I filled up, it stayed on full for the longest time, then dropped all of a sudden.


Any thoughts??
